Pair of cottages, now one. Early C18, later former cottage dated
1810. Rendered over coursed sandstone rubble; plain tile roofs.
Left-hand part: one storey and attic. Two gabled eaves dormers with
2-light metal casements; large external end stack to left. 2-window
front; 2-light wooden casements with C20 panelled door between, off-
centre to left. One storey outbuilding at rear with integral brick
end stack. Right-hand part: 2 storeys. Bracketed eaves; external
stone end stack to right with brick top. Central first-floor C20
3-light wooden casement, ground-floor C20 three-light wooden casement
to right and C20 panelled door to left. Interior of left-hand part
with chamfered spine beams and large open fireplace. This house occupies
a prominent position in the village close to The Fold (q.v.) and the
former Free School (q.v.).
