Barn. Circa 1700 with later C18 alterations. Weatherboarded timber
frame on red sandstone rubble plinth, south-east end wall rebuilt in
red brick; plain tile roof. 6 bays. South-west front: 3 boarded loft
doors and 3 lower boarded doors. Truss exposed in left-hand gable end.
Right-hand gable end with 2 tiers of lozenge-shaped honeycomb vents.
C19 cast-iron pump and grey sandstone trough adjoining barn to south-
east. Interior of barn: collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts;
pairs of purlins, with wind braces to top pair. The barn forms part
of a complete farmstead group also including New Hall Farmhouse (q.v.).
