Farmhouse. Mid-Cl7 with mid-C20 additions. Timber framed on brick
plinth with painted brick nogging, extended in painted brick with planted
timbers; plain roof. Baffle-entry plan of 2 framed bays with later
additions to left-and rear. Framing: square panels, 3 from sole plate
to wall plate (top panels divided), with short straight corner braces.
One storey and attic. 3 large gabled full eaves dormers with 3-light
wooden casements; brick ridge stack off-centre to right (formerly central)
and brick stack behind ridge off-centre to left. 3-window front; large
C20 plate glass window in left-hand addition, pair of 3-light wooden
casements to right flanking probably late C19 timber framed gabled porch
with panelled door. Right-hand gable end has collar and tie-beam truss
with queen struts and v-struts. One storey timber framed (closely-spaced
uprights) outbuilding adjoining to right with high sandstone rubble
plinth; right-hand gable end with 3-light window and boarded loft-door.
C20 flat-roofed addition to rear of house. Interior not inspected but
likely to be of interest. V.C.H., Vol. VIII, p.173.
