- The Old Manor House
to north-west

GV II

Probably house, now service block. Mid-C17 with c.1700 addition. Dressed
yellow/grey sandstone with sandstone ashlar addition; plain tile roof.
2 storeys and attic with addition of one storey and attic. South front:
plinth, chamfered to rear, and 2 small gabled eaves dormers with 2-
light wooden casements. Stone ridge stack off-centre to right consisting
of 2 square shafts with moulded base and cornice and parapeted gable
end to left with chamfered coping and integral stone end stack with
moulded cornice. C17 right-hand part: 3 first-floor windows and 2 ground-
floor windows; one- and 3-light double-chamfered stone mullioned windows.
C18 addition to left (see straight joint): pair of 2-light double-chamfered
stone mullioned windows flanking boarded door. Exposed collar and tie-
beam truss in right-hand gable end with brick nogging. Interior: C17
chamfered spine beams. 5-bay roof; tie-beam trusses with 2 collars
and queen struts; brick and lath and plaster infill. Pairs of purlins
with wind braces.
