House, now divided. Circa 1600 and mid-C17 with C18 or C19 alterations.
Timber framed with painted brick nogging on rendered plinth, end wall
to south rebuilt in rendered brick; graded slate roof. Framing: c.1600
large square panels to right (2 from sole plate to wall plate) with
short straight corner braces; mid-C17 small square panels to centre,
3 from sole plate to wall plate. Framing to left probably altered
small square panels. 3 framed bays, at right angles to road; the
northernmost bay is probably the earliest (c.1600), the other two C17
additions. One storey and attic. East front: 2 large central gabled
eaves dormers with C19 small-paned 2-light wooden casements. Parapeted
gable end to left with external brick end stack, central brick ridge
stack, and brick ridge stack off-centre to right. 5-window front;
central pair of 2- and 3-light C19 wooden casements; pair of probably
C18 horizontal glazing bar sashes to right and left, and small probable
staircase window off-centre to left. Boarded door between first and
second windows from right. Collar and tie-beam truss in right-hand
gable end with queen struts and V-struts. C20 painted brick lean-
to set back to right. 3 gabled eaves dormers and central lean-to addition
at rear. Entrance to No. 1 at rear. Interior not inspected. David
