Farmhouse. Mid-to late C17 with early C19 addition and mid- to late
C19 alterations and additions. Timber framed with plastered infill panels
on high dressed red sandstone plinth; plain tile roof. Framing: small
square panels, 4 from sole plate to wall plate. Three framed bays.
Two storeys and attic. Chamfered plinth. Two gabled timber framed eaves
dormers with 2-light wooden casements. Brick ridge stack off-centre
to right and integral brick end stack to left. Two-light wooden casements,
2 to first floor and 3 to ground floor. Late C19 gabled brick porch
between first and second windows from left with stone plinth, chamfered
corners, chamfered arch with ogee stops, and boarded door with fanlight.
Collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts in right-hand gable end.
Mid- to late C19 red sandstone ashlar addition to left. One storey and
gable-lit attic. Two-light wooden casement to front. Early C19 two-
storey red brick wing at rear. Glazing bar sashes; door in angle with
6 flush panels, 4-part rectangular overlight and late C19 lean-to porch.
Interior: early C19 remodelling. Central ground-floor room with pair
of chamfered beams; large segmental-arched fireplace with inserted small
early C19 fireplace. Early C19 staircase with stick balusters and turned
foot newel post. Boarded doors with L- and strap hinges.
