Cottage, latterly divided. Dated 1569 with C17 addition and late C19
alterations or additions. Timber framer with painted brick nogging on
brick plinth. Left-hand gable end rebuilt in rendered brick.
Slate roofs. Framing: closely-spaced uprightswith middle rail and
tension braces; small square panels, 2 and 3 from sole plate to wall
plate. T-plan. 3 framed bays at right angles to road with one-
bay C17 addition at rear. One storey and attic. East front:
brick ridge stack off-centre to left, external brick end stacks and
external brick end stack to rear wing. Central gabled timber framed
semi-dormer with 3-light wooden-framed leaded wooden casement. 3-
window front; late C19 and early C20 two-and 3-light leaded wooden
casements. Early C20 bay off-centre to left with 3-light wooden-
framed leaded metal casement (in place of former doorway). Boarded
door to right with date in frame above. Right-hand gable end has collar
and tie-beam truss with queen struts. Interior: central ground-floor
room with wide-chamfered beam and large open fireplace with wooden lintel.
Small piece of old stained or painted glass in rear of left-hand ground-
floor room depicting a head. Reset rail in former rear wall of main
range dated 1569 (said by the owner to have come from above the former
second doorway in the front wall). Blocked 2-light window.
