Farmhouse. Mid-C17 with C18 additions and mid-to late C19 alterations
and additions. Timber framed with painted brick nogging on brick
plinth; partly rebuilt and extended in brick, painted to represent
framing. Slate roofs. Framing: square panels (3 from sole plate
to C17 wall plate) with long straight tension braces. Eaves raised in
C18 by 2 small panels. L-plan. 2 framed bays with projecting gabled
cross wing to right of 2 framed bays. 2 storeys. Integral brick
end stack to left and brick ridge stack to cross wing. Parapeted gable
end of rear of cross wing. 2:1 window front; C19 two-light wooden
casements and 4-pane sashes. Painted brick porch in angle of cross
wing with late C20 panelled door. Gable end of cross wing has
exposed collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts and V-struts.
C19 painted brick addition at rear of cross wing with integral brick
corner stack. Interior not inspected.
