Shown on O.S. map as Market Hall.
Small Market Hall. Dated 1824. Grey sandstone ashlar. Slate roof.
3 x 4 bays; equally-spaced side openings and narrow end openings flanking
wider central opening. Open sides with unfluted Doric columns standing
on raised stone platform. Triangular-pedimented gable ends, that to
north-west has superscribed date with carved corbels above.
Central square wooden bellcote with pyramidal slate
cap (minus finial) and pair of copper fire bells. INTERIOR:
4-bay roof with king-post trusses. Five of the stone columns are replacements,
taken from an old house and reused in the butter market c.1972. Market
Drayton Civic Society, A Town Trail (1982).
