House, now shop. Mid-C17, partly rebuilt in the early C19. Small
C18 addition at rear. Timber framed with red brick nogging on high
brick plinths, rebuilt and extended in red brick, rendered to front.
Plain tile roofs, hipped to front. Framing: square panels, 4 from
sole plate to wall plate. 3 framed bays at right angles to the road
(that to front rebuilt). 3 storeys, 2 storeys and attic and one storey
and attic. Dentil brick eaves cornice,second-floor glazing bar sash
with painted stone cill and first-floor 4-pane sash. C19 shop-front
with carved plate-glass window and glazed door set-back to right.
Some timber framing visible at rear of front block Rear range: large
timber framed gabled eaves dormer to right with 3-light wooden-framed
metal casement. First-floor cross window to left, ground-floor C18
glazing bar sash with exposed bar to left and late C19 canted bay to
right. Collar and tie-beam truss in rear gable end with queen struts
and king strut. Small C18 painted brick cottage adjoining at rear:
one storey and attic. Toothed-brick eaves cornice and parapeted gable
end with integral brick end stack. Small gabled semi-dormer with
2-light wooden casement. Ground-floor 2-light window to right and
boarded door to left. Interior: ground-floor front room has pair
of chamfered spine beams with ogee stops. Only part of interior inspected.
