House. Circa 1800. Red brick with plain tile roof. Three storeys over
basement. Dentil brick eaves cornice. Integral brick end stacks (rebuilt).
Three bays; glazing bar sashes (mainly 16-pane) with painted stone cills and
lintels. Three-light segmental-headed basement window to left. Three stone
steps up to central door with six raised and fielded panels, rectangular
overlight with radial fanlight, moulded surround and doorcase consisting
of fluted pilasters with fret-ornamented capitals, sections of entablature
with reeded architrave, frieze with flutes to centre and wheatsheaves over
pilasters, and triangular pediment. Stone plinths of former railed
enclosures to front. INTERIOR: small lobby has 6-panelled door with margin
lights. Former kitchen fireplace in right-hand ground-floor room with
c.1800 cast-iron range and wooden surround. Windows with moulded wooden
architraves. 6-panelled doors with architraves. Boxed-in stair with
stick balusters to landing.
