Farmhouse. Dated 1637 with later additions and alterations. Timber
frame, now rendered and painted black and white in imitation, painted
brick additions; plain tile roofs with crow-stepping to gable of hall
range. T-plan with short hall range of end baffle-entry type to right
and gabled cross-wing to left. One storey and attic to hall range,
2 storeys to cross-wing. C19 and C20 fenestration; one early C20 casement
to first floor of cross-wing with 16-paned glazing bar sash window
below to left; hall range has one early C20 casement to ground floor
with contemporary gabled eaves dormer directly above. Early C20 half-
glazed double door under contemporary gabled trellised porch to front
gable of cross-wing, which has slightly jettied bressumer with rosettes,
initials "J.B.E." and date "1637" in raised lettering; projecting single-
purlin ends. Integral end stack to right of hall range and red brick
ridge stack to centre of cross-wing. C19 addition set back to left
has 16-paned glazing bar sash on ground floor and integral end stack.
Single-storey early to mid-C19 painted brick outbuildings attached
to right. Interior: ground-floor room of hall range has chamfered
spine beam with stepped and straight-cut stops and heavy joists. Partly
infilled inglenook fireplace with richly moulded lintel. Position
of infilled doorway in front of fireplace to right.
