House, latterly shop, now garage. Mid-to late C15 with late C19 alterations.
Timber framed with plastered infill, pebbledashed to front. Partly
rebuilt in red brick to rear. C20 concrete tile roof with gable to front.
4 or 5 framed bays, at right-angles to road. Framing: close studding to
front. Slightly jettied attic and gable, both with ovolo-moulded bressumers.
Square panels to side (4 from sole plate to wall plate) with long straight
tension braces. 2 storeys and attic. Dentil brick band to left-hand
corner in line with attic bressumer. Integral brick lateral stack to left.
Central first-floor late C19 square oriel with 1-: 4-: 1-light wooden
mullioned and transomed window, frieze and cornice. Late C19 ground-floor
shop-front with cast-iron columns, plate-glass windows to front and left-
hand side, angled glazed door to left-hand corner and deep fascia. Left-
hand return front with ground-floor segmental-headed 6-pane glazing bar sash.
Right-hand return front with wall plate of former framed wall above later
brickwork to right. Rear gable has exposed truss with cambered tie-beam.
One-storey rear wing, partly timber framed, with integral brick end stack.
Interior: former 2-bay first-floor solar to front, originally open to
the roof but divided horizontally by the attic floor, probably inserted in
the late C16 or Cl?. Central open truss of former solar with curved
brackets supporting tie-stubs and chamfered arched-braced cambered collar.
Inserted C17 or C18 stud partition. Single purlins (altered) with straight
