House. Late C16 or C17, remodelled in the early C19. Rendered timber
frame on a tall plinth, partly rebuilt in painted brick. Slate roof.
2 framed bays. Remodelled in a Gothick style. One storey and attic
over semi-basement. External brick end stack to right. Pair of large
gabled eaves dormers, each has 2-light Gothick wooden casement with Y-
tracery. Ground-floor 3-light Gothick wooden casement to right with
intersecting tracery, and 16-pane glazing bar sash to left. Central
2-light wooden Gothick window with Y-tracery to ground and first floors.
Central 6-panelled door below (lower 2 panels beaded flush and shaped
raised and fielded upper panels) with moulded architrave. Approached
by flight of external steps with railings. 3-light basement window
to right. Right-hand gable end with 2-light attic wooden casement to
left and blocked small circular window to right. C20 brick lean-to.
Interior: entrance hall with moulded cornice. Early C19 staircase
with winders, closed string, stick balusters and tapered square newel
posts. Right-hand ground-floor room with moulded cornice. Left-hand
bedroom has C18 door with 2 raised and fielded panels. Fireplace in
right-hand basement room (former kitchen) with probably reused late C16
or early C17 moulded wooden lintel.
