Farmhouse, now house. Early C17 with later additions and alterations.
Timber framed with red brick infill, clad or rebuilt in painted brick
to east side; slate roofs. Basic L-plan with east range of two framed
bays extended to north in C19 and 1½-bay range at right angles to west.
Two storeys. Framing: main (east) range has hewn jetty to attic on south
with four rectangular panels from cill to tie beam and queen-strut truss
with double-purlin ends. Range at right angles has four rectangular panels
from cill to wall plate and queen-strut truss to gable end, which may
also formerly have had hewn jetty: painted brick below tie beam. C20
casements throughout, two on each floor to east side, including C19 addition,
those on ground floor segmental-headed. South side of range at right-angles
has half-glazed door to right with red brick ridge stack directly to right
forming baffle entry. C19 lean-tos in angle to rear. Interior. Not
inspected but likely to be of interest. C20 flat-roofed porch attached
to north of C19 addition is not of special architectural interest.
