House, latterly part of school, now house. Early C18 with later additions
and alterations. Red sandstone ashlar with red brick addition; hipped
slate roof. Original rectangular block of 3 x 1 bays with central baffle
entry extended by one bay to left in mid-to late C19. 2 storeys and
attic on chamfered plinth with continuous floor band and corner pilasters.
3 small C19 casements to first floor alternating with 2 gabled dormers
in roof slope. Ground floor has C19 casements in C18 round-arched moulded
architraves with plain pilasters, imposts and projecting keystones to
either side of central entrance. This has slightly recessed C20 half-
glazed door in C18 moulded surround under bracketed flat hood with moulded
broken pediment above. Prominent ridge stack directly above has top
rebuilt in late C19 red brick with toothed capping. Right return has
blind window to ground floor with architrave like those to front and rect-
angular blind opening directly above. C19 addition has segmental-headed
casement on each floor and integral end stack with toothed capping.
