Cottage. Late C17 with eaves raised early C20 and later additions and
alterations. Timber framed with painted brick and rendered infill on
rendered plinth; concrete tile roof. Original 2-cell plan with single-
storey byre to right; eaves raised and present stack inserted early C20
and byre converted to domestic use. 2 storeys. Framing: square panels,
2 from cill to original wall-plate with 2 smaller square panels to raising
of eaves. Collar and tie beam truss to left gable end with V-struts
from collar. Byre mainly rendered and painted black and white in imitation
of timber frame to front but original roof pitch visible to gable end:
painted rubblestone with brick raising. Early C20 casements, 3 directly
below eaves with one to left and 2 to right of contemporary plank door
under lean-to hood. Painted brick stack directly behind ridge immediately
to left of entrance. Interior. Left ground-floor room has chamfered
spine beam and heavy joists. Cased spine beam to centre room which has
long straight tension braces exposed to former right wall of house-part.
There is said formerly to have been a stack to left gable end. C20 flat-
roofed addition at right-angles to rear on right is not of special architect-
