Barn. Early C17 with later alterations. Timber framed with weather-
boarded infill, partly clad in corrugated iron on sandstone rubble plinth;
asbestos sheet roof. Framing: 3 square panels from cill to wall-plate
with weatherboarded infill to right. Threshing entrance with wide double
doors in second bay from left and eaves hatch to right of centre. Hatches
to weatherboarded gable ends on first floor. Interior. Framing a mixture
of square panels and vertical posts with long straight tension braces.
Long elbowed braces to bay partitions. Double-purlin queen-strut roof in
4 bays with straight windbraces and V-struts from collars to gable ends.
Occupies a prominent roadside position. The Hollies is not included
in this list.
