Barn approx. 15m north-east of Lee Hall Farmhouse

Barn. Early C18 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed
with red brick infill, plinth and addition; graded slate roof. L-plan
with short added range (probably mid-C18) projecting to right. Framing:
farmyard side: close-set vertical posts with middle rails to right of
threshing entrance and narrow rectangular panels with short straight braces
to left. King-strut truss to left gable end and C20 red brick to right.
Rear has 2 narrow rectangular panels from cill to wall-plate to right and
3 square panels with long and short straight tension braces to left.
Farmyard side has threshing entrance in second bay from left (with opposing
entrance to rear) and scattered openings to right, including stable door
to ground floor of C18 brick projection and window above. Interior.
Straight tension braces to bay partitions. Staggered single-purlin roof
with straight windbraces and mixture of queen-strut and king-strut trusses
and raking struts from tie beams to principal rafters, including curved
principals to second truss from left. Continuous loft except for threshing
bay which has slate floor. Included for group value. Lee Hall
Farmhouse is not included in this list.
