GV II
Barn. Early C18 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed
with red brick infill and plinth; corrugated iron roof. 2 levels.
Framing: vertical posts with light horizontal members forming wide
rectangular panels, 4 from cill to wall-plate. Cambered tie beam with
raking struts to principal rafters to left gable end and red brick to
right gable end. Long straight tension braces to rear. 5 ventilated
doors with eaves hatches directly above inner 3. Interior. Single-
purlin roof in 4 unequal bays with king-post truss to centre and raking
struts from tie beams to principal rafters to other trusses. C19
cowstalls with walk-ways running across width of building. Loft.
