Old Hall Farmhouse is shown on O.S. map as Holbrook Farmhouse.
Cowhouse. Early to mid-C18 with minor later alterations. Timber framed
with red brick infill on high brick plinth; graded slate and corrugated
iron roof. Framing: rectangular panels with air vents, 2 from high
cill to wall-plate, with long straight tension braces. Collar and tie
beam end trusses. Plank doors to left and right with eaves hatches
immediately to one side. 2 tiers of fixed-light windows above plinth
to centre, upper directly below eaves. Interior. Single-purlin roof
in 3 bays with raking struts from tie beam to principal rafters and from
tie beam to lower tie beam. C19 cowstalls. Included for group value.
