2/17 Walter's Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. About 1840. Local stone cut and squared, with Bath stone dressings; Welsh slate roof between stepped coped
gables (some plain clay tiles to rear); brick end chimney stacks. 2 storeys with attic; 3 bays, of which bay 1 is a
lower Western extension with half hipped roof. Rough stone plinth, ashlar quoins; plain chamfer mullioned windows with
labels over, fitted with horizontal glazing bar casements; between bays 2 and 3 a projecting gabled porch with cambered
arch entrance, plain boarded door. Further single storey extension with plain clay tiled roof to West. East gable has
small pane casements in plain surrounds; gabled outshut to rear apparently contemporary with rain building. Interior
not seen.
