6/7 Hardway House


Rectory. Early C19, now house. Local stone cut and squared with Doulting stone ashlar dressings; plain clay tile roof
between coped gables; brick end chimney stacks. Regency style. Double roof plan; 2 storeys, 4 bays of which bay 1 is a
projecting gable. 16-pane sash windows in plain surrounds; projecting porch to bay 3 with chamfered cambered arch,
protecting double doors part glazed with margined panes. Margined casements to rear, ground floor. Internally little
changed, with Regency style staircase, doors, doorcases, fireplaces. Extension northwards to match has coach house,
with a brick pseudo three-centred major arch.
