Shop in row, formerly a house. Probably C18. Local stone cut and squared, colourwashed with ashlar dressings; asbestos
cement slates behind parapet between abutments; brick end chimney stacks. 3 storeys, 2 bays. Early C20 shopfront of
quality to ground floor, with late C20 small pane windows inserted, panelled Doric pilasters with console brackets to
fascia hood; to left Regency style 4-panelled door with plain fanlight under continued fascia; two 8-pane sash windows
to first floor, with 9-pane sashes to second, under cornice and shallow parapet; in centre first floor wrot iron
bracket with hanging sign, and to right good C18 lead rainwater stackhead. Interior not seen but a report speaks of
part concealed timber posts and a rear cill beam suggesting an original construction similar to Nos 20-20 High Street
oposite (qv). (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, April 1975).
