Block of seven cottages. c1818. All rendered and colourwashed; probably original form of thatch to both ends, remainder have Bridgwater patent interlocking clay tiles; brick chimney stacks mostly in original form. Straight row, with projecting gables to centre and at both ends, these last with swept curved ridges. Two storeys, one bay to each house except no 42. No 36 has segmental plan projection to West gable, of two storeys; steel casement windows, doorway in projection.

No 37 has late C20 casements and rendered and tiled porch. No 38 has steel casements with similar porch. No 39 has horizontal bar casements, with added window to first floor and attic, and glazed and tiled projecting porch. No 42 has a timber porch with 1950's glazed door and steel casement windows. No 41 has late C20 timber casements and a glazed and tiled porch; and No 40 has 1930's steel casements, with door in East gable.

Interiors not seen.

Newtown is a planned layout, of c1818, with originally some 80 thatched cottages; it is said to have originated as a vote-catching scheme. This terrace, although altered, retains a few original details not seen elsewhere, and helps to illustrate the original concept.
