Pair of cottages. Early C19. Cary stone cut and squared; plain clay tile roof, the southern half (Ashcot) between coped gables; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3 + 3 bays. To Ashcot horizontal bar casement windows, set in segmental-arched voussoired openings for 3 bays, windows all 3-light except upper bay 2, which is two light. To lower first bay 2 a C18 panelled door with glazed toplights. To Candle Cottage windows all 3-light and under timber lintels; apart from the northernmost upper window set higher in a flat-roofed dormer; between bays 1 and 2 a C20 glazed door with sidelight. Interiors not seen. Included primarily for group and streetscape value.
