5/113 Corner building about 90 metres
south-east of Lodge, Higher Flax
Mill building. C19. Cary stone cut and squared, red brick and Doulting stone dressings; double Roman clay tile roof
between coped gables. Three storeys, 5 bays. Lias stone plinth; 25-pane cast iron windows set in brick surrounds with
keystoned segmental arches heads; boarded doors under concrete lintols to each level bay 3. East elevation a gable to
match, with segmental arched doorways below, pairs windows first floor and single window second floor. Interior with
cast iron columns, timber cased wood staircases, etc. little altered. Part of a twine, rope and sailcloth factory
transferred to this site by Charles Donne in 1818, and may be of that date, with later modifications to windows.
