3/148 East and south boundary walls to
The Manor House, with gateway
Boundary walls with gateway. C18 probably. Local lias stone roughly cut and squared, Doulting stone dressings. Walls in
random rubble with plain thin coping, averaging 2.5 metres high, with upsweep and ball finial to west end of south
wall; in east wall, for about 10 metres run opposite The Manor House (qv) the wall in larger better worked stones, with
rubble square end piers and centre gate piers in panelled ashlar, all with cornice pattern caps, steps and urn finials;
6 stone steps up to gateway which has C20 timber gates. The walling adds to the setting of the house, and occupies an
important corner site in the village scene.
