Milestone, C19. Ham stone pillar, about 340mm wide x 200mm thick x 750mm tall, with triangular top; the inscription now
indistinct. An ancient route from Salisbury to Exeter, this road was turnpiked by the Chard Trust in 1753 (Bentley J.B
and Murless B.J. Somerset Roads, SIAS, 1985),
