CRICKET ST THOMAS CP WINDWHISTLE

Lodge house, l834, Local stone rubble, Ham stone ashlar dressings; hipped plain clay tiled roof; two intermediate stone
chimney stacks of paired barley-sugar-twist flues. Single-storey with attic, 3 bays. Bay 1 his a 4-light hollow-
chamfered mullioned window with label; bay 3 has a matching 1+3+1 light bay window; both bays hive plain gabled dormers
above with 3-light casement windows, all windows having cast-iron diamond lattice glazing: bay 2 has a cambered-arched
door with flanking single-sidelights to match main windows, under shared stepped label. Matching 1+2+1 bay windows on
end walls. Interior not inspected. This lodge erected when almost the whole parish was emparked by the owners of
Cricket House (qv) in 1834. (VCH Somerset, Vol IV, 1978, p134).
