House. Late C16/early C17; some C19 alterations. Cob and
coarsed limestone rubble, rendered to front; gabled thatch roof;
C19 brick right end and ridge stacks (central axial stack
truncated). 3-unit plan with central hall with axial stack
backing onto through-passage to right (blocked to front). One
storey with attic; 4 window range timber lintels over mid C20
window and mullioned windows with 2-light casements; similar
casements in eyebrow dormers; one door right of centre. C19
rear outshut with pantile roof, adjoining C20 door to rear left.
Interior noted as having stop-chamfered beams and jointed-cruck
roof; stone flags to ground floor and old oak boards to first
floor. To inner room on left is chamfered bressummer over open
fireplace with bread oven; plank and muntin screen divides this
room from hall with chamfered detail and arched doorway. Hall
stack has chamfered bressummer beneath timber-framed smoke hood
(a rare example) with wattle and daub infill. To right of hall
stack is transverse beam with morticing for former plank and
muntin screen on right of through passage. Original plank door
to attic.
