GV II

Gateway and flanking walling, to North Perrott Manor House (Perrott Hill School, qv). Probably c1877, by T.H. Wyatt.
Ham stone cut and squared, ashlar dressings. Boundary wall about 40 metres, length, about 1.5 metres high, with
chamfered plinth and moulded weathered and stopped copings; ogee plan returns. Square, rusticated ashlar gate piers on
moulded plinths, with cornice caps over plain metope? and triglyph friezes, and urn style finials capped with
open-pattern pyramids in a C16 style. Apparently similar piers at each end of wall, both ivy covered (June l986).
