Farmhouse. Late C17. Local stone cut and squared, random coursed, Ham
stone dressings, with concrete ring beams now visible at first floor and
wall plate levels; double Roman clay tiles between coped gables; brick
end chimney stacks. "L"-plan: 2-storeys, 4-bay East front. Boarded
entrance door in heavy frame to bay-2; ground floor windows oak ovolo
mould mullioned windows of 3 and 4-lights, with label moulds; first
floor windows have stone mullions and jambs to match, no window bay 2,
one label mould damaged by ring beam. Small timber window in North wall
and further mullioned windows to rear extension. Buttress to South
gable. Interior not seen. Slow Court said to be a freehold estate
founded 1238 by the de la Slo family and site of the Manor House of Sloo
or Sleu; also oak panelled rooms - property undergoing major repairs
(February 1983).
