SOMERTON

9/143 Nahoon, Hope Cottage and Collar
Cottage

-

GV II

Three cottages in row. Possibly C19 re-shapings of earlier buildings. Local lias stone roughly squared; clay pantiled
roof to south, but Collar Cottage has plain clay tiles with stone slate base courses, plain gables; brick and stone
chimney stacks. Two storeys, one bay each cottage: 16-pane sash windows in plain openings with timber lintels: Nahoon
has C20 part-glazed door to right of window, Hope Cottage a late C20 part-glazed door to left; and Collar Cottage a C19
4-panel door to left under a stone lintel, as is the lower window - both appear to be set into a former 3-centre arched
opening. Interiors not seen. Included primarily for group value.
