Large detached house. Late C18, extensively remodelled 1846. Local lias ashlar stone with Ham stone dressings; hipped
Welsh slate roof behind parapets; stone chimney stacks. Two storeys; north elevation of 7 bays, of which the first 4
represent the addition of 1846. Plinth, band course, cornice, shallow parapet; main block has 12-pane sash windows in
plain openings with flat voussoired arches, those to bays 5, 6 and 7 on larger scale; bay 6 projects, with a Ham stone
Tuscan open portico, with 4 columns on a 2-step base and full entablature, framing a pair of doors with radial glazed
rectangular fanlight in architraved surround; above this a Venetian window and in gable pediment a panel with Adamesque
decoration : bays 1 to 4 have 9-pane sash windows set lower, bay 4 cutting into main block; to lower bay 1 a glazed
door in architraved surround under hood mould. Return elevation on west side of 2 matching bays. south garden front of
7 bays, with 12-pane sash windows above and 15-pane below, French doors to bays 2, 4 and 6 : a later extension extends
southwards from east corner as a single-storey wing. Interior not seen. (VCH, Volume III, 1974).
