Cottage in row. C18 with C19 modifications, possibly incorporating earlier work. Local lias stone roughly squared; clay
pantiled roof continuous over row; stone and brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 3 bays. Two light small pane casement
windows of earlier pattern under timber lintols; to lower bay 2 a 6-panel door with glazed toplights, in heavy frame,
set in C20 timber lattice porch with hipped painted metal roof. Interior not seen. One metre west of house wrot iron
railings with simple points to square rods, turned iron finials to standards, set on dwarf stone wall, matching gate;
contributing to setting of house. Part of William Taylor's 'fair dwelling house' which had been divided by 1714: this
plot known as the 'Star' presumably a small inn. The houses on either side, which may also incorporate earlier work,
but appear too altered to be of special interest). (VCH, Volume III, 1974).
