Raised pavement with steps and handrail. Early C19, Local lias stone, cut and squared; wrot iron handrails. Retaining
walls up to 3 metres high, with two flights of 10 steps; horizontal rails with cast iron pillars; side stepping stones
into gutter at mid-point and top. Protecting Arrondale (qv) and the French House (qv), it adds considerably to their
setting, and the streetscope in general leading up to the Church of All Saints (qv).
