Portion of column. C13. Ham stone; about 600 mm diameter and about 1.5 metre high: water-holding base mould, plain
circular shaft, shallow bell capital; surmounted by a later gabletted and fleur-de-lys-finial. Fragment of the south
arcade, walled up probably in C15 as the population dwindled, and rediscovered during the 1879/80 restoration: the
detail of the new south arcade to St. Mary Major (q.v) was based on this example.
