Guidestone. Probably C18. Ham stone pillar, about 400 mm x 300 mm slightly tapered, about one metre high, with rounded
top. North face reads Montacute/ Road/(finger arrow pointing left)/ (?)/Miles' and on face "South/End of (?)/
Road/(finger arrow pointing left)Ilchester/Road*. A rare survival of its type. (Bentley and Murless, Somerset Roads,
SIAS, 1985).
