5/3 Symes chest tomb, 7 metres West
South West of West door, Church
of Saint Mary Magelene


Chest tomb. Early C19. Ham stone. Raised base, moulded plinth, one fielded panel each face with coffered pilasters to
flanks, fairly thin moulded hipped top. Commemorates David Symes; died 1821; his widow, died 1839 and also Julietter
Highmor Symes, died 1817. Seems to be a conscious copy of the early Highmor chest tomb nearby (qv).
