Railway bridge over river. Circa 1860. Boasted square stone (possibly Chilmark) with interior face of arch in red
brickwork. Semi- circular arch with stepped extrados and key stone dressed proud; impost course between battered and
raked pilasters; elliptical raked abutments; moulded quasi-parapet; bridge rises only half the height of railway
embankment. River channel set square to railway. Carefully detailed and well considered companion bridge to the
nearby rail/road bridge (qv), for the London and South Western Railway, which opened in 1860.
