Boundary walls. Probably C19. Local stone rubble, with large stones set vertically as copings, averaging 3 metres
high, in part forminq rear walls of outbuildings and East gable of Barton Farmhouse (qv). At Northern end the timber
whirligig, an upright oak post bound with iron at top, with four-spoked top to match, intended to restrict use of lane
to pedestrians, a rare survival. Both are important elements in this unusual rural footpath which is an integral part
of the village scene.
