Gould's West of England twine
Rope walk. Early C19. Cut and squared local stone with brick quoins and dressings to gable ends, mostly open but with
some bays weatherboard clad; undulating double Roman clay tile roof. Oak frame uses triangular braced roof trusses with
large collar beam supported at three points along span. About 30 metres long in total, but several bays towards South
end now collapsed. Business founded by Israel Rendell after he bought the land in 1828; purchased by Job Gould in 1898.
Of historic interest as a rare survival of the building type.
