Description

WHITELACKINGTON CP
ST3615 DILLINGTON PARK

7/124 Fountain, about 75 metres east of
Dillington House
-

GV II

Garden fountain and pond. Circa 1840, but centrepiece apparently C16. Ham stone. Circular pond, about 3 metres
diameter, with simple shaped coping/kerb having ovolo-aould on inside face; in centre an octagonal plinth, then what
appears to be a barley-sugar twist chimney stack with moulded top, presumably from the original C16 house, capped with
a bell- hip scale-decorated feature with stiff-leaf finial. The only feature of interest in garden to the east of
Dillington House (q.v.).
