4/23 Higher Dairy House

GV II

Detached cottage. C17 origins, modified and roof probably raised in C18. Ham stone rubble, ashlar dressings; double
Roman clay tiled roof between stepped coped gables; brick end chimney stacks. Two storeys, 2 bays. Below,
hollow-chamfered mullioned windows in chamfered recesses with labels over, 4-light bay 1 and 3-light bay 2; above
3-light plain mullioned windows with iron-framed central opening lights; between bays a boarded door with toplights
hung on heavy frame, up 7 steps, set under timber lintel. Similar plain mullioned window in higher west gable, with
earlier-type single-light casement below; C20 windows in east gable; outshut to part of rear elevation. Interior not
seen.
