Detached farmhouse. C17, probably modified in C18. Ham stone cut and squared, with some ashlar; thatched roofs between
stepped coped gables; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 4 bays, of which bay 1 is set lower, and bays 3 and 4 are
ashlar faced. Hollow-chamfered mullioned windows in chamfered recesses of 3- 4-, 2- and 3-lights below, bay 1 having
separate label and the remainder sharing one which is stepped up over the cambered-arched doorway to right of bay 1 and
the window to bay 4; above, plain casement windows, 3-light except bay 2 which is 4-light, bay 1 window set up to
eaves, the remainder have exposed timber lintels; small double stairlight or lamplight to left of lower bay 1; above
bay 3 a Sun Insurance plate. North gable plain; 2-light mullioned window in south gable at first floor level: extension
westwards from south-west corner. Interior not seen, but reported is a cross-passage plan of 4 rooms in line, of which
that to bay 1 was the kitchen, with wide fireplace and oven and traces of stair to low room over; to first floor main
block some 'in-and-out' timber board partitions. About 3 metres east of house a rubble wall with thin angled coping,
about one metre high, with slight sweeps up to gateway opposite door, with returns to house corners, adding to setting
of house and to straetscape. (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, 1977).
