Description

ST0937 STOGUMBER CP HIGH STREET (North side)

11/166 Gates, gatepiers and railings set
in dwarf wall fronting the Church
of St Mary

-

GV II

Gates, gatepiers and railings. Possibly mid C20, wrought iron, trefoil headed uprights with double gates swept down to
centre and single gates flanking them, swept down to railings from gatepiers. Railings set in red sandstone random
rubble dwarf walls with flat coping, in all about one metre high. It is possible that the dwarf wall is C19 and that
the gates and railings were replaced in mid C20 after the Second World War.
