Wellhead, set into retaining wail below Halsway Mews (qv). C15 stonework, reset late C19. Red sandstone, coursed and
squared, about 3 metres high. Almost square headed opening, deeply moulded architrave with stops and hoodmould. Recess
with inserted 2 order chamfered relieving arch set above stone water trough. Square panel with quatrefoil containing
shield. Stonework probably taken from Halsway Manor (qv) when it was largely rebuilt late C19.
