house, C16 perhaps incorporating earlier building, altered late C18 - early C19, and early C20. Roughcast over rubble,
double Roman tile roof hipped to left, large rendered stack left of cross passage. Plan: cross passage with 2 cells to
left only; straight stair rises at junction with 2 cell rear wing, gabled single cell addition in angle. 2 storeys, 3
bays; C20 metal casements without glazing bars, entrance right bay, plank door, rectangular light above. Interior:
large fireplace, chamfered wooden lintel, chamfered stone jambs, pyramid stops in front room right, late C18 - early
C19 ceiling beams and panelled reveals to windows on both floors, possible that cross passage added to 2 cell unit at
this time, and also a stable to right - now demolished. Upper storey not viewed. Chamfered beams with step and runout
stops in other 3 ground floor rooms, remains of large stairway to right of fireplace with chamfered lintel in end rood.
Early C20 photographs show that this was a larger storey wing, re-roofed considerably lower when erd demolished
early C20. Reputed to have been the school rooms at the tile. (Photograph in NMR).
