Description

ST14SW WEST QUANTOXHEAD CP

5/209 Remains of gasholder, 1 metre
West of Gas Retort House, St.
Audries Holiday Centre

-

GV II

Remains of gasholder. Circa 1855. Brick. Circular in plan, about 4 metres across, and thought to be about 1 metre
deep but filled with water at time of survey, (October 1983). The base of the gas holder is level with the surrounding
ground, which is completely overgrown at time of survey, so it is not clear whether any other part of structure
remains; Primarily listed for historical interest with the adjoining gas retort house (qv).
